England appoint familiar face and old adversary to their coaching staff

Former Australia international Michael Hussey and Victorian David Saker have joined

England have appointed a familiar face and an old adversary to their coaching staff for next month's T20 World Cup in Australia.

Former Australia batsman Michael Hussey and Victorian David Saker have joined the England set-up on a short-term basis.

Hussey, who played 79 Tests and 185 one-day internationals for Australia, will work with England's batsmen, while Saker, who was Australia's bowling coach from 2013 to 2016, will take charge of the attack.

England's new T20 coach Kieron Pollard said he was delighted to have Hussey and Saker on board.

"They are both world-class coaches with a wealth of experience," Pollard said.

"I'm confident they will make a significant contribution to our team.".

Sam Curran named Player of the Final after his 3-12 helped England secure the T20 World Cup

Sam Curran was named the Player of the Final after his 3-12 helped England secure the T20 World Cup with a five-wicket victory over Pakistan in Melbourne.

The left-arm seamer bowled superbly, taking the key wickets of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood as Pakistan were restricted to 137-8.

Curran's performance was all the more impressive given that he had been struggling for form in the lead-up to the tournament.

But he produced his best when it mattered most, and his efforts helped England to their second T20 World Cup title.

Curran said he was "over the moon" to be named Player of the Final.

"It's a dream come true to win the World Cup," he said.

"I'm so proud of the team and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have played a part in this victory."
